Our Towbars
At Dolphin Towbars & Trailers Ltd we are able to fit a variety of towbars and electrics to cars and light commercial vehicles. We supply TowTrust, Westfalia, Right Connections and other leading brands.
Fitting takes approximately two to three hours and although we don’t have facilities for you to wait with your car, we are located close to Tower Park and there is a bus route less than a mile from our workshop.
Most types of towbar require some form of bumper cut, here at Dolphin Towbars & Trailers Ltd, we always keep these cuts as neat and small as possible and we will advise you if this needs to be done.
Our workshop is situated on Chalwyn Industrial Estate and over the years we have heavily invested in our tooling, premises and stock to provide our customers with a quality service.
Below is a small explanation of the different options available to you.
Fixed flange
This is the most popular and cost-effective towbar which uses a two bolt fixing. This allows towing accessories to be fitted including bump plates, traditional bike racks, alko balls and ball & pins. If your car is fitted with reversing sensors we can advise if this type of towbar is appropriate.
Fixed swan neck
This is a neater solution that is less intrusive than the fixed flange. These are recommended if your vehicle has reversing sensors that a fixed flange may pick up. This type of neck is suitable for alko couplings and most clamp on bike racks.
Detachable
This is the neatest solution and often isn’t visible when the neck is removed. Again, these are suitable for alko couplings and most clamp on bike racks. If your car is fitted with low parking sensors this is the best solution. We only use quality brands to ensure they are easy to attach and detach from the vehicle.
